The animals in our family can be perplexing. The motivation behind their behavior is often a mystery. Susie was raised on a farm, which started her lifelong relationship with animals. In 1992 she began volunteering with a dog and cat rescue group. Without knowing what they were doing, the group accepted Jasmine, a beautiful Holland Lop rabbit. It became clear that they didn't know how to care for her properly. Susie not only began researching rabbit care, she also took Jasmine into her family. It was through this event that Susie began her life with rabbits. By 1994, Susie became very active in Rabbit Rescue through the Missouri Chapter of the House Rabbit Society.

In 1999, Susie's Doberman, Magnum, began to exhibit the symptoms of Wobblers Syndrome, a dis-ease Dobermans often suffer. To give him a break from his self imposed job guarding the house, Susie turned to Doberman rescue hoping to find a companion and co-worker for Magnum. As she began this task, she was unaware that she would soon be actively involved in rescueing Doberman through Kansas City Doberman Rescue. To date Susie has fostered numerous Dobermans and countless rabbits.

Rescue volunteers work closely with local shelters, and through her work, Susie soon began encountering other animals in need of care. She now fosters several different species, including guinea pigs, rats, mice, and chinchillas.

Her expertise in small mammal care is one that has led many to turn to her for petsitting. Susie occasionally cares for small mammals and small birds, in her home while their families travel.

In addition to those organizations. Susie is on the Board of Directors of Kind Planet, a national Humane Education organization which also operates several Sanctuaries for once homeless animals.

Susie's interest in Animal Comunication began with her relationship with Olivia. In Susie's own words,

"I have had many companion animals over the years and the ability to talk to them must have always been there but it took Olivia, the anti bunny, to make me see that I could do it and should do it.

Olivia’s will was strong and she paved the way for me to hear and see things that I had been seeing all of my life but refused to acknowledge. This little five-pound ball of fur who refused to be considered an animal of any kind, knew more than this adult human with many more years on this planet. Olivia insisted that I communicate with her."

Susie began researching Animal Communication and eventually studied under Karen Anderson, a well known Animal Communicator in Washington.

Susie is compassionate and down to Earth. Her life experiences with animals and their caretakers give her the tools that allow her to assist others who seek guidance regarding caring for their companion animals.
